the lockless door
  by Robert Frost

  It went many years,
  But at last came a knock,
  And I though of the door
  With no lock to lock.

  I blew out the light,
  I tip-toed the floor,
  And raised both hands
  In prayer to the door.

  But the knock came again.
  My window was wide;
  I climbed on the sill
  And descended outside.

  Back over the sill
  I bade a 'Come in'
  To whatever the knock
  At the door may have been.

  So at a knock
  I emptied my cage
  To hide in the world
  And alter with age.

  没有锁的门

  过了多年时光
  突然听见敲门声响
  我想起门没锁
  我无法把它锁上

  我随即吹灭了灯
  悄悄走在地板上
  同时我举起双手
  对着门祈祷

  但敲门声又响了起来
  我的窗户黝然洞开
  我轻轻爬上窗台
  一纵身跳到窗外

  我又转身隔着窗台
  喊了一声“请进”
  管他敲门的是谁
  门后会出现什么情景

  就这样,一声门响
  使我跳出自己的樊笼
  从此投身广阔的世界
